Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead end-to-end machinery design and development. This role involves complete ownership of the product lifecycle—from concept development and system design to prototyping, validation, and BOM release. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in machine design, new product development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Lead concept design based on customer and business requirements
- Develop system architecture, machine layouts, and configurations
- Perform design calculations, kinematic analysis, and component sizing
CAD & Engineering Documentation
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools
- Apply GD&T standards and perform tolerance stack-up analysis
- Maintain drawings, documentation, and revision control
Validation & Optimization
- Conduct design validation, simulations, and FEA analysis
- Apply DFX methodologies (DFM, DFA, DFC, DFS, DFR)
- Ensure designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and serviceable
Prototyping & Testing
- Support prototype manufacturing, assembly, and trials
- Conduct functional, performance, and reliability testing
- Identify issues and implement design improvements
Collaboration & Integration
- Work with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Service teams
- Coordinate with suppliers for component development
- Interact with customers during trials and issue resolution
- Ensure integration with ERP/PLM systems
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical or machine design
- Strong expertise in machinery design and new product development
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing processes
- Experience in DFX methodologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience in SPM or textile machinery (preferred)
