Job Summary

This role involves making large-scale underwriting decisions (up to INR 150–300 crore), managing broker relationships, acquiring high-value clients, and leading product training initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment & Underwriting

  • Evaluate complex, high-risk proposals and ensure alignment with underwriting guidelines
  • Analyze past claims and loss ratios to assess risk
  • Define policy terms, conditions, and pricing strategies
  • Provide technical advisory on emerging risks and market changes
  • Finalize quotes to secure large accounts

Premium Growth & Client Acquisition

  • Build and manage relationships with brokers and IMDs
  • Negotiate terms and ensure participation in large-value accounts
  • Advise clients on insurance products and coverage
  • Visit partners to understand challenges and resolve concerns
  • Monitor and improve broker/channel performance

Projects & Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead initiatives to drive premium growth
  • Improve internal processes and underwriting systems

Product Training & Development

  • Conduct training on product features, pricing, and usage
  • Support new product launches with training programs
  • Identify skill gaps and train intermediaries
  • Develop training content and materials

Requirements

  • Strong experience in underwriting and risk assessment
  • Ability to handle large and complex insurance portfolios
  • Knowledge of claims, pricing, and policy structures
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in training or mentoring is an advantage
