Job Description

A Technical Lead – Microservices & SOA is responsible for leading the design, architecture, and development of scalable, high-performance microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions. The role involves providing technical leadership, defining engineering standards, mentoring development teams, and ensuring reliable, secure, and maintainable backend systems while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design and implementation of SOA and microservices-based applications.
  • Mentor engineers and senior developers on architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, technical discussions, and design reviews.
  • Drive engineering excellence through clean architecture and test-driven development (TDD).

Architecture & Development

  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.
  • Develop and maintain REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs.
  • Design and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.
  • Implement event-driven architectures using message brokers like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and SLA compliance.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Work closely with architects, product managers, and stakeholders to define technical roadmaps.
  • Contribute to SOA strategy and cloud-native architecture decisions.
  • Document services, integrations, and technical processes.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies in microservices, cloud computing, and AI-assisted development.

DevOps & Cloud

  • Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation.
  • Monitor application health using observability and logging tools.
  • Participate in cloud infrastructure planning and optimization.
