Job Description
- MaxLinear is seeking a System Integration and Test Engineering Manager to lead the validation and integration efforts for cutting-edge WiFi home gateway products deployed by global cable and Fiber Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
- This role demands a strong technical foundation in IEEE 802
- 11 standards, wireless networking, hands-on experience with system-level testing, and proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and test strategies
- You will be responsible for driving the quality, performance, and reliability of broadband and WiFi solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering seamless user experiences in real-world environments
- In addition to technical ownership, you will manage and mentor a team of test engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
Role
- Lead the system integration and validation strategy for WiFi home gateway products, ensuring alignment with ISP requirements and industry standards
- Demonstrate deep expertise in 802.11 b/g/n/a/ac/ax/be wireless protocols and WPA2/WPA3 security standards
- Architect and oversee the development of comprehensive test plans, including functional, performance, regression, and interoperability testing
- Manage and mentor a team of test engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware teams to ensure end-to-end system validation and seamless integration
- Investigate and reproduce customer-reported issues, driving root cause analysis and resolution in coordination with engineering teams
Knowledge of wide range of test tools including:
- Traffic generators: IxChariot, iPerf
- Protocol analyzers: Wireshark, tcpdump, Ethereal
- Automation frameworks: Robot Framework, Selenium
- Test management tools: Test Quality Center (QC)
- Third-party equipment: PAL6, PAL7, Veriwave,Litepoint
- Drive automation initiatives using Python, integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and REST APIs
- Manage defect lifecycle using Jira, ensuring timely triage, escalation, and resolution of critical issues
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and testing methodologies, contributing to a progressive and agile QA organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science
- 12-15 years of experience in networking and system validation, with a strong focus on WiFi technologies and wireless performance metrics
- Proven track record in leading system-level testing efforts, including team management and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical findings to diverse stakeholders
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about quality engineering and continuous learning
