Job Description
As a Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will lead the technical delivery of large-scale utility projects focused on Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Generation Management Systems (GMS) using AspenTech OSI’s Monarch platform.
This role blends deep power systems expertise, customer engagement, and hands-on system integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with utility customers to define requirements for EMS / GMS / DERMS
- Design and implement real-time power system control solutions
- Lead power system modeling, analysis, and electrical design
- Develop and manage custom applications for customer needs
- Create and execute test plans (FAT, SAT, availability testing)
- Tune power system models to meet operational and industry standards
- Provide consulting, documentation, training, and end-user support
- Stay updated on power system standards and industry trends
- Mentor team members and lead technical discussions
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Postgraduate in Power Systems (preferred)
- 8+ years experience in:
- Power System Analysis
- Energy Management Systems
- Utility software, SCADA, or real-time grid control
- Strong understanding of utility control room operations
- Willingness to travel for customer engagements
